Community Midwives

Our community midwife runs clinics at the practice and cares for our pregnant patients.

We liase closely regarding any complicated cases.

She may sometimes have a student midwife working alongside her.


Community Nurses

District nurses see patients in their own home (eg. housebound patients or palliative care patients).

They also hold clinics each day at Cleckheaton Health Centre. Please ring 01924 351529 to make arrangements to see one.

For advice, home visits or to leave a message call the messaging service on 0300 304 5555.

They will help you with any of the following:

  • Minor injuries, dressings, removal of stitches and ear syringing
  • Blood tests or admininsatration of some medications at home
  • Advice on general health matters
  • Palliative care


Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Macmillan Nurses

We work closely with our Macmillan team and district nurses to provide good end of life care and support for families.
