You can make an appointment by calling at reception in person or by telephoning 01274 957846 between 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday. Appointments with a doctor can be booked at any time up to three months in advance.
We now also have GP appointments available online. Please ask reception for your unique username and password to access online services via this website.
Urgent Access Clinic
Every morning we run an Urgent Access Clinic. This is a “sit and wait” clinic which is intended for urgent cases that need to be seen on that day and cannot wait until a routine appointment is available. The time that the clinic operates depends on levels of staffing, so it can change every day.
WE ASK THAT PATIENTS TELEPHONE 01274 957846 BETWEEN 8am and 10am IN THE MORNING TO BE ALLOCATED A SLOT IN THE URGENT ACCESS CLINIC FOR THAT DAY.
North Kirklees GP Extended Access
Evening and weekend appointments are now available. Patients can now see a local GP for routine appointments on weekday evenings and at weekends.
Pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments are available between 6.30pm and 9.30pm each weekday, with additional slots available on Saturdays from 9am and 4pm and Sundays 9am and 1pm.
The appointments are available in Dewsbury Health Centre.
How to book an evening or weekend appointment:
There are ‘pre-bookable’ and ‘on-the-day’ appointments which can be accessed through our receptionists on 01274 957846, or by calling the free NHS 111 phone line out of normal working hours.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. You can make an appointment by calling at reception in person, or by telephoning 01274 957846 between 8.00 am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Appointments with a nurse can be booked up to four weeks in advance.
We have a number of early morning appointments available with the Practice Nurse.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason it is very important that you inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
If you fail to attend 2 appointments, we will write to you advising that you have missed appointments and are at risk of being removed from the practice list if further appointments are missed .
Failure to attend 3 appointments in a 12 month period will result in removal from the practice list and you will have to find an alternative GP practice.
You can now book your doctor's appointment online. This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
All you need to do to register for this service is to call at reception with photographic proof of ID. Our receptionist will then issue you with a user name and password.
